Summary

HowLongDoICook is a utility-first cooking-time site. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the site and improve it. We do not sell personal data, ever. If we ever add account features, subscriptions, or personalized preferences, we'll update this policy and tell you clearly what changes.

Data we collect

• Usage analytics. Aggregated, anonymized data about which pages are viewed, referral sources, device type, and rough geographic region. Used solely to improve the site.
• Browser notifications. If you start a kitchen timer and grant notification permission, your browser stores that preference. We never receive your identity — notifications are fired entirely from your device.
• No account data. This site does not currently offer accounts, logins, email signups, or personal profiles.

Cookies and local storage

We may use essential cookies and localStorage to remember non-identifying preferences (for example, unit system or temperature scale). We do not use tracking cookies for advertising at this time. Third-party services we rely on (such as our hosting provider) may set essential cookies for performance and security.

Third-party services

The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard request-level data (IP, user agent, timestamp) for security, DDoS protection, and error logging. Their privacy practices are governed by Vercel's privacy policy.

Your rights

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you have specific rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, delete, or export any data we hold about you. Because we do not currently collect personally identifiable information, most of these requests will be nothing to fulfill, but you can still contact us to confirm.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
